New Anti-Government Rallies Start in Ukraine
Ukraine is preparing for a new wave of demonstrations, aka Maidan 2, this time against Yushchenko. Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc has called for the start of nationwide protests action against the "anti-crisis" coalition comprising its political rivals. Supporters of a candidate for prime minister Viktor Yanukovitch have also called for the start of nationwide protests. Several thousand demonstrators protested outside the Ukrainian parliament many calling on President Viktor Yushchenko to dissolve Parliament and hold a new election.
Blockade has started of the Supreme Rada with a promies that rallies would be held throughout Ukraine until President Viktor Yushchenko dissolves parliament.
The president of the European Union, Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja, described Ukraine as in a 'sorry state' due to its political crisis. He said the European Union was finding it increasingly difficult to deal with the country.
